Chinese New Year 2008 - Part 3

I drove to Seria tonight with my kids to have this home-cooked meal with the ILs. We had vegetables with a tin of abalone, a fried pomfret, stewed leg of pork with garlic served with belachan, asam fish, duck stew with galangal and five spice powder and dark soy sauce, Chinese sausages, fried noodles, chicken curry (not in picture) and a delicious tonic soup of chicken, scallops and herbs.
The soup with dried scallops from HK and Chinese herbs.

The vegetables cooked with abalone in its own stock and oyster sauce.
The pomfret was particularly delicious - a big fat fresh fish with tender meat, perfectly fried and served the Hakka way (drench in oil with a slight sprinkling of dark soy).

Mark seems to be admiring the food here.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
