Sat, 12th May 2007

Today my kitchen was a hive of activity because I decided to make Laksa (Kuching style) for dinner tonight.

First, I made the belachan paste. It's always nice to have a good dollop of belachan stirred into your laksa soup.

Dry toast a piece of belachan and break it into pieces.


Keep breaking till the paste starts to resemble breadcrumbs. Toast till the neighbours start to get annoyed.


Pound with fresh chillies (I used 10 chilli padi's). Add sugar, salt & lime juice.

Garnish for the blog.
