Had some lovely people coming over, so made some meehoon putih just in case they got hungry later (and they surely did).

Fry garlic, shallots and lots of dried shrimp. I used very little oil, and the heat was turned down low. The shrimp mixture was effectively roasted till it was fragrant and the mixture was not oily at all. Turn heat up. Add some peeled prawns.

And sliced fishcake. See - very little oil right?
Add meehoon. Mix well - don't break the strands! Season well with salt and white pepper.
Add choi sum.
Then lots of eggssss.

And serve with a lime chilli soy sauce and coriander.
It's really delicious! And easy.
