Green Christmas Wrapping

In a small effort to cut wastage and use less paper, this year, most of our Christmas presents will be wrapped in NEWSPAPER. The weekend issues of the Singapore Straits Times have been filled with gorgeous ads which I have been collecting for 2 weeks now.

These are full page colour Cartier and
Van Cleef & Arpels ads.
Together with their regular weekend cartoon pages, these make very very colourful wrapping paper indeed! Best of all, at no cost; or at just the cost of the newspaper... (Some cartoons to enjoy after opening the presents on Christmas day). If I were really diligent, I could spray gloss over the paper and add sparkles and bits and pieces but I'm not.
The tags are cut out of old Christmas and other greeting cards. Every year I cut up and keep Xmas and all other cards which trickle through the post. The plainer ones come in handy for birthday gifts too.

And the wrappers can go into the recycle bin after the presents are opened! E.

great idea!

would like to try that one. unfortunately, the newspapers here just use newsprint so the ads aren't so colourful. will have a look out though.

thanks for sharing
