Weds, 11th June 2008

Was at a reception yesterday afternoon and spotted many delicious handbags.
These made my heart skip a beat or two.

Spotted this and this. Cute?

Also spotted Emmagoodegg's very cute Anya Hindmarch and a stunning Chanel 227 reissue in Dark Gold. Yumms.

And mine. Which is extreme vintage as I bought it more than a decade ago. So if you've been thinking of buying one, go on - bite the bullet - do it; they truly are investment pieces and if you choose classic timeless pieces and look after them well (keep it stuffed with tissue in its original dust bag and box, make sure the links do not press onto the leather and take them out often and polish when necessary) you get a minimum 10 years of good usage out of them and 10 fold compliments and admiring glances- so what are you waiting for? (Just trying to justify my next piece).

But still loved and treasured. The shoulder strap is actually long so the bag touches the hips when the strap is on the shoulder; but I've shortened it slightly simply by pulling the links into the bag and using plastic wire ties to tie them together.
Food next.

I'm loving the Chanels :) The temptation to succumb to a 2.55 or even a slightly smaller version of yours has been haunting me for a while.

Maybe we should all pool our handbags for common use ala BAF (http://www.sg.be-a-fashionista.com/)??
