Last night I had the pleasure of dining at A & L's house and also meeting A's lovely Mummy and Dad.
AB, P and I brought some food each; and by the end of the evening; drinking tea and eating desserts in the living room, the ladies were all comfortable enough to all end up sitting on the floor! A & L - thank you for a very nice evening - it was a pleasure to be invited to your home to share a lovely meal with your family and friends. (Thank you for the tea too).
Here's the food laden table with 2 huge platters of pasta made by A.
Please visit Pablo's & Reeda's blogs for more pics and words.
I brought some herb crusted roast beef. The crust is made up of some flour, homemade wholemeal breadcrumbs, mixed herbs, grainy mustard, salt & black pepper and olive oil. Pat firmly on surface of meat and put meat on onion wedges. Roast slowly (Oven mark 5/6) for approx 2 hours. Let the meat rest for 45 mins before slicing. Serve with pepper cream sauce and hot English mustard.

Here is Reeda's photo of me slicing the meat. Oooh - the meat is pretty rare in the middle.
And P's photo of the meat,
before being simply garnished with A's roast potatoes and a few sprigs of spring onion.
A's seafood pasta with a most unusual orange sauce which complemented the prawns and mussels.
Garlic and Anchovy Dip with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
These fat little pillows of soft roasted garlic are very sweet; with anchovies (John West), black pepper, parsley and olive oil.
Bunny's dessert (no, this is not straight out of a cookbook although it well could be, but from here.

You are so welcome E, it was such a pleasure to have you. And I was in awe of your skills - from cooking to carving to presenting! The roast beef went a long way to being sandwich fillings yesterday. It was the best!!! Oh, any possibility of more garlic and anchovy dip in the near future?
Love your pics :)
Hello A - you are so kind! Thank you. I am so glad you enjoyed the food I brought. And there will be MORE dip on Friday! See you then. LuvE.
