I also cooked some prawns for Mark & I to share (Hazel has a prawn allergy).

Chop some garlic, ginger and garlic. Saute in hot oil. Add prawns, and let them pink on one side,

before turning over.

Add Chinese cooking wine, sugar, oyster and light soy sauce.

Keep stirring, and if mixture is too dry, add a little water. By this time, all the delicious gravy would have seeped into all the nooks and crevices of the prawns. (Do prawns have nooks & crevices? *wonders* But I think you know what I mean :P)!

Dish up!

Eat.

The children had a lot of fried fish for dinner tonight.

I don't know what they are called but these little fishes are delicious with very tender, flaky and sweet flesh. They were $6 for a kilo.

Just fry in hot oil with a little salt sprinkled over the skin. I had a little with a chilli, garlic & lime infused soy sauce and the children had theirs plain.

Here's Hazel with a plate of carefully deboned fish as she's not old enough to fish out the bones by herself. Her "But I'm 9, Mum"! didn't bugde me.

And Mark who ended up eating with his hands.

Mark's lunch.
If it weren't for the fact that he swims 1.5 hours twice a week, I would be quite worried.

Sun, 20th May 2007

A lovely morsel of fresh crunchy prawn briefly sizzled with garlic, ginger, shallots, Chinese cooking wine, sugar, oyster and light soy.

More pics to come. (Those horrible lines again)!

Late nights ahead.... Lots of lovely books bought at a boot sale. Total cost? B$27.00!

p.s Some are Mark's and the Growing Up book is for the 9 year old.
